FUNDSPORT AND OLYMPIC STAR UNITE!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - YOUNGSTERS ON THE COXMOOR ESTATE were given a huge confidence boost today as former Olympic Gold Medallist Linford Christie delivered his highly successful athletics programme. Known as 'Street Athletics' - the idea is the creation of Christie and Fundsport were selected to help support the event. Members of the Fundsport team including 2012 Olympic hopeful Stuart King and Marketing Co-ordinator Jo Pepper were on hand to record race times and hand out t-shirts to competitors.
Winners of the 60m races will be put forward to compete in the Manchester final later in the year. Christie who famously roared to 100m Gold in Barcelona 18 years ago said: "It's a pleasure to come to Kirkby" - and the community came out to support the exciting event.
Media Co-ordinator Barry Cooper said "Having such a star as Linford Christie come to the area and promote such a programme is wonderful. It's great for children around here to have this type of opportunity and the fact the event came to Kirkby is a real fillet for the town. For Fundsport to be asked to be involved was also a pleasure, much of the work we do promotes similar standards to Linford and it's wonderful events like this happen."

ITS A KNOCK-OUT AT THE CARRS!
Warsop, Mansfield - OVER THREE THOUSAND PEOPLE attended the hugely popular Warsop Carnival on Sunday. The event organised by Warsop Parish Council was a roaring success especially in the Main Arena where Fundsport organised a TV style 'Its a Knock Out' event for the carnival-goers.
With giant inflatables such as the Rodeo Bull, Pillow Bash, Gladiator and Fantasy Run - young and old alike took the opportunity to enjoy the free activities on a glorious day. With the Fundsport event organised by Luke Smith, he said ''It was really successful, all the teams that entered enjoyed themselves and were very competitive. It was great to see the people of Warsop come and enjoy the free activities."

FUNDSPORT LAUNCH ACADEMIES!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - THIS SUMMER will see a wide range of new activities launched across Nottinghamshire for children. The academies, which will see specialist coaching in sports such as Golf, Dance, Football, Cricket and Basketball will run throughout the summer holiday in a variety of venue.

LETS MAKE IT A S.A.F.E. PLACE!
Eastwood, Nottinghamshire - A GROUP OF STUDENTS from a school in Nottinghamshire have become the talk of their town. The young people from Eastwood Comprehensive School have been working hard to secure funding and a property since they were formed in October and launched the venue on Friday evening.
The centre threw open its doors to welcome respected members of the community like Mayor Brian Griffin as well as families of the young people. They were issued with school honours to add further excitement to the evening which had begun with an opening, passionate speech from Headteacher Mark Pickford.
Extended Services and Fundsport UK have been working closely with the group to give various types of advice including business and funding.

LUKE SET TO HIT THE WATER
Alton, Suffolk - EXTENDED SERVICES CO-ORDINATOR Luke Smith is preparing for his swim marathon. On the eve of the event at Alton Water just outside Ipswich, the 23 year old has been in training for over three months as he prepares to join the other 3000 competitors as they go head to head for glory.
The event is part of Fundsport UK's year-long drive to raise money for children’s disability charity Action for Kids. Talking about the event he said: "I'm really excited about the swim and just can't wait to get started. It feels like a lot of waiting around and it will be good to get down there tonight and get preparing".

FUNDSPORT EMPLOY 17 NEW STAFF!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - ACTIVITY DELIVERY FIRM Fundsport UK have embarked upon a huge recruitment drive during an economic time of struggle and worry. The company based in Kirkby have employed 17 new members of staff in the last week alone. Amongst those members of staff include an England U23 long distance runner, golf tutor and specialist funding consultant. The staff will be inducted over the next few days and starting shortly.
The influx of new staff fits with the development plan to double in size within two years and offer an improved and wider service to its customers throughout the county and further afield. Company Director Mark Craddock, talking exclusively to Fundsport.co.uk said: "The calibre of staff we are bringing in shows the level we aim to get to. We have recruited staff in areas where we have identified a need or one we need to strengthen.
On the back of creating our French division, we will now be offering Spanish and in addition to our sport portfolio - we are now in a position to offer golf delivered by a PGA professional tutor. It certainly strengthens our hand and will undoubtedly enable us to offer a more comprehensive service to our customers".

CAPITAL TRIP FOR BOSS
London - DIRECTOR Mark Craddock took the brave decision of travelling down the M1 to London on a Friday lunchtime, but it was for a very good cause. The purpose of the trip was to visit the offices of our nominated charity of 2010 - Action for Kids. The charity are working closely with Fundsport with the boss running the 26.2 mile Brighton marathon back in April.
Next month see's Arnold Hill Extended Services Co-ordinator Luke Smith attempt the Great East Swim in June and with more events pencilled in over the coming months, it is hoped the company will raise some much needed funds for the charity.

THIRD ARNOLD SCHOOL RECIEVES GOOD OFSTED
Arnold, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK's childcare setting at Arno Vale School in Arnold has received a positive Ofsted report.
The setting based inside the school provides children with after school care which includes a variety of fun activities every day of the school year.
The achievement now means that all three childcare venues within Arnold have received a ‘Good’ Ofsted report in the current academic year. Arnold View and Coppice Farm have both been subjected to the inspections since last September while Young Adventurers at West Notts college has also received the same standard.
Fundsport Childcare Director Deborah Craddock said: “It’s a great achievement for us and something we are very proud of. We set our standards very high throughout all our venues and this is reflected in our Ofsted reports.
“Schools, parents and children need to have the upmost faith in a childcare setting knowing their children are well looked after and having a fun time in a completely safe and secure environment.”
The company based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield run a Childcare division, as well as delivering PPA language and sport cover in schools, Extended Services project management, out of school activities holiday provision and funding consultancy.

Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK's media profile was raised tenfold last week following appearances on BBC Radio Nottingham and Mansfield 103.2.
Firstly, with the national press coverage surrounding the closure of the Welbeck mine in Meden Vale, Mansfield - Fundsport UK's consultancy arm were high in demand with the county's press. Following Fundsport's work with Welbeck - it has been highlighted that the area isn't going to go into decline as some would think, but new facilities will be built to give the community a much needed lift.
BBC Radio Nottingham and Mansfield 103.2 plus The Chad newspaper - were all keen to cover the story and Fundsport's Media Co-ordinator, Barry Cooper said: "Our press department really went into overdrive last week. The phones were red hot! But it was great, the Welbeck story is a really positive piece of news in what is a sad time for the area. From our point of view, we wanted to counter the negativity by telling people that good things are happening."
Thursday also saw Director Mark Craddock head into BBC Radio Nottingham to be a guest on Richard Spurr's afternoon show. After talking about Action for Kids - Fundsport's nominated charity for 2010, Mark then gave his expert opinion on voting rights for pigs - amongst other things. It is hoped, that after such a flurry of activity - the brand of Fundsport will become much more well known - for all the positive work it does throughout Nottinghamshire.
TV STAR AT THE SUMMIT CENTRE!!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - THE SUMMIT CENTRE unwittingly played host to one of the country's top TV personalities on Friday. ITV1 star Jeremy Kyle was on location filming a follow up to one of his well known morning shows.
The show, set to be screened in the summer featured a youngster from the local area was based around anti-social behaviour.
FRENCH 4 SCHOOLS GOES......TO SPAIN!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK's French division, French 4 Schools will be offering Spanish language tuition from June.
Following on from the success of the French arm of the business the opportunity has arisen for the company to expand its language division. A spokesman for the company said: "It's a fantastic acquisition for us. The popularity of languages within primary schools is increasing all the time and we're responding to that demand. Through the quality service Fundsport have been offering over the years coupled with the excellence provided by French 4 Schools, we are able to take on Spanish and provide quality in that.
It's a hugely popular language around the world, probably only behind English and French in the amount that it is spoken - so to be in a position to offer it to people is very exciting."
WELBECK ADD £10,000 TO THE POT
Meden Vale, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire - A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS from north Nottinghamshire have been working hard in the local community to raise much needed funds.
The group called 'Meden Vale The Future' have secured £10,000 through fundraising and donations towards a building project which will include new sports facilities on the site adjacent to the coal mine, which sadly closes today (Tuesday 18th May) after 100 years of service.
The new facilities will provide a big boost the local area and bring the community together during what is usually a difficult time with a pit closure - which leaves just one operational mine in the county.
A presentation took place at the welfare last evening where Councillor John Allin presented the group with a cheque for the substantial amount with local press present.
Fundsport UK have been working as funding consultants with the welfare for over a year now and have secured almost half a million pounds towards the project.

DANCE DAY - A SUCCESS!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - THE SUMMIT CENTRE played host to a fascinating extravaganza of dance on Thursday. People from around the community came to the centre on Pavilion Road in the town as the 'International Day of Dance' arrived in Nottinghamshire.
Participants were treated to a variety of dance techniques such as Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Ballroom and much much more.
Mansfield 103.2 presenter John B Tannen was present throughout the morning to bring listeners up-to date with what was happening at the Centre.
Event Organiser Jo Pepper said: ''The dance extravaganza day was a brilliant day filled with lots of fun and laughter.
It was great to see the Summit Centre being used to its potential and being accessed by the community, which should hopefully be the start of re-engaging the centre back into the minds of the wider Kirkby community.
The dance extravaganza day was the start of some great events and programmes to come here, showing the whole community can benefit from such a great environment.
Centre Manager Kay Appleby was delighted with the response ''It was great to welcome new faces to the summit centre on Thursday and the feedback from those attending the session was excellent".
The Adult and Community Learning Service who funded the event as part of their 'International Day of Dance' celebrations were equally pleased with the day.
It is hoped that dance classes will soon be established at the Summit Centre on a regular basis.

MARK-ED ACHIEVEMENT!
Brighton, East Sussex - OVER 30,000 PEOPLE were present to see Fundsport Managing Director Mark Craddock complete the gruelling 26 mile Brighton Marathon.
Craddock, who completed the Silverstone and Brighton half-marathons in the run-up to the event - was one of around 7,500 competitors from around the world, many of whom were using the event as a prelude to next Sunday's London Marathon.
Starting in the sunshine at 9am and 26 miles later along the seafront, Craddock came home in a respectable time of around five hours - worthy of the six months hard graft that had gone in to preparing for such a mammoth task.
Talking exclusively to Fundsport.co.uk the boss said: "I'm extremely proud to have completed the marathon in five hours. I've put in an awful lot of hard work over the last few months - so it's nice that it's worked out so well, and without any major injuries either."
Commenting on the crowds that lined the streets of the south coast city, he added "It was strange, people shouting 'Come on Crads' - people I'd never met before, but it gives you a huge boost and keeps you going - it's great to have people cheering you on and giving you that extra energy, especially when the legs are flagging!"
The marathon was in aid of Fundsport's nominated charity for 2010 - Action for Kids - who were positioned at mile 16 supporting Mark. The event was part of the company's charity double act - with Luke Smith attempting the Great East Swim in June.”

MINI-BUS SERVICES GOES LIVE!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - Fundsport UK have launched a new mini-bus service in Eastwood.
The project which will be utilised throughout the Eastwood Family of Schools has been derived by a new youth group within the family. The service will commence from April 12th and will be used at the Comprehensive Schools discretion to support their education programme. The shiny new bus, featuring the Fundsport brand image will also be used to transport students to sports events and other out of school activities.

3RD FAMILY OF SCHOOLS JOIN FUNDSPORT
Kimberley, Nottinghamshire - Fundsport UK have been appointed the Extended Services Co-ordinators for the Kimberley Family of Schools.
Following the successes in Eastwood and Arnold Hill - The Kimberley School approached Fundsport about co-ordinating their Extended Services following close work with Jane Lyons. Kimberley become the third family of schools in Nottinghamshire to contract Fundsport in this capacity.
It represents another milestone for the Nottinghamshire company who, despite the difficult business climate continue to grow. Camilla Denham who will be the Co-ordinator reflected on her new position "I'm really looking forward to working with the family of schools and building on the work that has already been done. Knowing how things have developed in Arnold and Eastwood, it's an exciting opportunity and hopefully we can bring some positive things to Kimberley."

£50K EDUCATION PROJECT LAUNCHED!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - Educational delivery firm Fundsport UK have been given the go-ahead to pilot a new project in association with Connexions. The innovative new idea known as 'The Nottingham Education Project' will launch after Easter across Nottingham.
The students of Bluecoat in Aspley who are not predicted to gain a Grade A-C at GCSE in English and Maths will have the chance to access some extra sporting and dance activity alongside extra curriculum learning. It is hoped this project will raise their attainment levels and enable them to achieve higher grades.
The 72 Year 10 students will take part will take part in tournaments and engaging sessions run by Fundsport UK.

FUNDSPORT AIM TO MARKET THE SUMMIT!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - Fundsport UK have been appointed the Marketing Co-ordinators for the Summit Centre in Kirkby. The leisure centre which can provide a variety of services will benefit from Fundsport's marketing experience.
Using the facilities the centre has including a sports hall, football field, multi-use games area and conference areas - it is hoped the centre will be used to the best of its ability, giving access to the whole community. With Fundsport's track record of popular advertising the facility will be able to offer activities, services and provide the services people would like to see.
A Fundsport spokesman said: "The Summit Centre is a fabulous place, potentially. It is however somewhat hidden from the community and hopefully we can help it become an active, thriving centre offering a range of activities for the community."

OFSTED RATE US - GOOD!!
Arnold, Nottingham - CHILDCARE PROVIDERS Fundsport UK have received yet another glowing reference from Ofsted.
The Kirkby based company who operate an out of school club at Arnold View school in Nottingham have recently been assessed by the government inspectors, who classed the setting as ''Good''.
WELBECK RECEIVE £400K FUNDING
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDING CONSULTANTS Fundsport UK have secured funding worth an astonishing £400,000 for Welbeck Football Club.
The firm, based in Kirkby have been acting as the consultancy firm for Welbeck in recent months, and through the Football Foundation they have been able to secure major funding. The money will be used to help build changing rooms, pavilion and develop football pitches.

FUNDSPORT LAUNCH HALF-TERM PROGRAMME
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - SPORTS & LEISURE provider Fundsport UK have today released information about their timetable of events for February half-term. The holiday period which begins across Nottinghamshire on Monday 15th April will see seven venues across the county offering activities from sport to dance.

MARATHON AND SWIM IN AID OF CHARITY
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK pair Mark Craddock and Luke Smith are in preparations for two events that will test their bodies to the limit. Managing director Craddock will be competing in the Brighton Marathon during April, while Smith will attempt the Great East Swim in June. That event, sponsored by British Gas will take place at Alton Reservoir near Ipswich.
Both are aiming to raise a substantial amount of money which will be presented to Action For Kids, the nominated charity of Fundsport for 2010.

Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham - A NOTTINGHAMSHIRE company have been celebrating this week after its support helped Nottingham to become a host city for the 2018 World Cup.
Fundsport UK were active in their support for the campaign, which saw Nottingham fight off competition from Derby and Leicester to secure the rights to host the Jules Rimet trophy, should England be awarded the competition in 2018. That decision will be left to FIFA's Executive Committee who will decided the nation's fate this December in Nyon.
A Fundsport spokesman said: ''It's a fantastic achievement for the city to be awarded World Cup status. Months and months of planning have gone into preparing such an outstanding bid, and we're proud to give our support.
Euro 96 was a great success and the World Cup would have a far more dramatic impact on local sport. The participation levels would be increased and the legacy left in the area will be terrific."

CHAD ENTERPRISE AWARDS REACTION
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK made it a night to remember on Thursday as they collected the 'Highly Commended' gong at The Chad Enterprise Awards ceremony.
Competing for the 'Community Contribution of The Year' at the 'Black Tie' event in Papplewick, Fundsport were pipped to the achievement by Mansfield organisation, Friends of Robin Hood.
After being nominated for the award, members from the company's management team headed to Chad HQ back in early October to present to a panel of judges. Fundsport were then invited to attend the Awards Evening where they scooped the award.
Fundsport's Media Co-ordinator, Barry Cooper commented: ''It was an honour to be nominated for such an award, and while we're clearly disappointed not to have won the overall award, we're still delighted we came second.
We like to think we make a great difference to local communities and hopefully this award will help us raise our profile and ensure we can reach out to more people.
Just being involved in the prestigious event shows how far the company has come in the last 12 months. It also gives us further focus for the year ahead.''
PATHFINDER COURSE LAUNCHED ACROSS NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
Nottinghamshire - Fundsport's Extended Services team have launched an exciting new sport, activity and childcare course throughout the Eastwood and Arnold Hill Family of Schools.
The 12-week course is open to children on the SEN register and will be eligible for 15-hours of FREE activities across the programme. A number of children have been identified through their respective schools with letters being sent out to parents to formally invite them to the sessions.
The course, which began in November will run until the end of February.

FUNDSPORT NOMINATED FOR TOP AWARD!
Mansfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK have received high recognition for the services they provide, after being nominated for the prestigious 'Community Contribution of The Year' accolade in the Chad Enterprise Awards 2009.
The competition see's the cream of local businesses go through a rigorous qualifying stage. Once shortlisted for the finals, management of each company have the task of putting together a presentation to present to a panel of judges, consisting of well respected members of the business community.
The inaugural award which is sponsored by Nottinghamshire Police saw a whole host of nominations, but Fundsport were successful enough to get through to the final four and they will discover their fate at the Enterprise Awards Ceremony, which is being held at the Goosedale Hotel in Papplewick later this month.
A spokesman for Fundsport said: "Obviously to be nominated for the award was a very proud moment for the company, it goes to show that our hard work in the community has been noticed and appreciated to such an extent that somebody felt the need to nominate us."
On their chances of winning the prize, the spokesman wouldn't be drawn: "We're delighted to have come this far and naturally we would be over the moon to be crowned winners, but to have been nominated in the first place gives us a great sense of pride.
There are some great causes that we find ourselves up against and we wish them well in what will be a fantastic evening."

WARREN'S GOT THE X-FACTOR
Top Valley, Nottingham - STUDENTS at a Nottingham school showed off their skills as they produced their very own X-Factor show inspired by the hit ITV show. The children were part of the hugely successful Fundsport holiday activity programme which provides free sport and art sessions throughout the October holidays at the Primary School in Top Valley.
One child said: "I loved the week, it provided me with something fun to be involved in during the holidays and the X-Factor talent show was really good.
The children took part in a talent show that was created by the Fundsport staff which culminated in a big performance at the end of the week.
Lead coach Scott Hardy commented: "The kids showed lots of effort throughout
the week, especially in a bid to put the show together. It was a late decision to
put the talent show on and they really enjoyed it."
"Everyone embraced what we wanted to do, whether or not they were singing, DJ'ing or supporting, it was really good to see."

BACKING THE BID!!!!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK are delighted to announce their support for Nottingham's bid to host the 2018 World Cup.
The company will be displaying supportive posters throughout it's Kirkby-in-Ashfield premises as well as around it's Extended Services school sites in Arnold and Eastwood, in an attempt to promote the bid and raise further awareness by getting schools on board and supporting the efforts.
Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council along with Rushcliffe Borough Council are working together with Nottingham Forest to try and come up with a successful vision to ensure Nottingham is selected.
Nottingham is among 15 other cities currently bidding to become one of 12 that will host the competition and executives will make the final decision on the successful venues in December.
Nottingham is fighting it out with near neighbours Derby and ract the World Cup here. The lift it would give the region would be unparellled.
As a company which has a big impact on communities around Nottinghamshire with our work in schools, we feel that by pledging our support, it will add extra weight to the campaign and hopefully encourage other's to do so.
The benefit to the country should we win the right to host the 2018 competition, will have a profound effect on everybody, but especially young people and that's something that as a company, we want to build on."

BE A BLOOD HERO!
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK have teamed up with the National Blood Service to promote giving blood in the area.
It has recently been highlighted that Ashfield has a surprisingly low donation rate and Fundsport are keen to work with the service to promote local sessions and increase the levels of blood taken by the NHBS.
Giving blood has always been high on the agenda of many people, but it's even more vital now, especially with the recent outbreak of Swine Flu. The illness has had a dramatic effect on the amount of people able to give blood and with stocks falling, it's vital that supplies are restored ahead of the winter months.

FUNDSPORT LAUNCHES NEW BRAND IMAGE
Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire - FUNDSPORT UK have continued to move forward quickly even despite the uneasy economic climate, with its new range of vans and clothing. The funding consultancy and activity delivery specialists, based in Kirkby recently moved to new offices in the town and have now added the stylish new vehicles to it's ever-growing expansion. The vans (pictured below) feature the fresh orange and black colour scheme which the company have adopted.
Managing Director Mark Craddock said: ''The acquisition of the new vans along with the re-branding of our colour scheme will hopefully help to raise the profile of the business as we move forward.''

CIARAN STRIKES IT LUCKY!
Mansfield, Nottinghamshire -- ONE LUCKY YOUNGSTER from the Bellamy estate has become the proud owner of a Mansfield Town Season Ticket to support the Stag’s promotion push at Field Mill.
12 year old Ciaran McLoughlin had been selected to win the prize by Fundsport UK Coach Adam McClune. He was awarded the honour for his outstanding improvement and commitment to the ‘Kick it For Mansfield’ project which is held at Bellamy Road playing fields.
Football-mad Ciaran, will be able to watch live Blue Square Premier League football at Field Mill this season with his father, who is also a keen Stags supporter. The pair will be safe in the knowledge his efforts have been fully rewarded.
Head coach Adam McClune said ‘’Ciaran always turn’s up with a cheerful attitude which rubs off on everybody else. He’s consistent with his performances and work ethic, he’s a pleasure to work with and I’m delighted he’s won the prize.’’
The project, co-ordinated by Fundsport UK, who work in conjunction with Connexions Nottinghamshire runs every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon from 5pm until 6pm.
‘The Kick it For Mansfield’ project, launched back in July is aimed at youngsters aged between 11 and 14. The football sessions, which are FREE to everybody that attends, have been designed to be fun and exciting with the emphasis put firmly on developing personal and footballing skills.
The scheme encourages both boys and girls of all abilities to put their talents to the test at the end of each session in organised games. Should anybody be interested in joining Ciaran at the sessions, they can collect a registration form from the Bellamy Homework Club, one of the Fundsport coaches or by calling 01623 723555.
